Business Overview The Institutional Distribution business provides a comprehensive range of flexible, high-quality solutions for Canadian institutional plan sponsors and their plan members. Through our team of sales, relationship management and consultant relations professionals, Institutional Distribution offers solutions for corporate and public defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, endowments and foundations that cover major and specialized asset classes.

Your Opportunity The Director, Institutional Client Management will be responsible for the investment servicing, retention, and cross-selling to primarily defined contribution clients in Canada. Maintain and deepen relationships with senior executives, investment staff, and Investment Committees at the client level and investment consultants. Using extensive technical knowledge of investments, operations, and the capital markets, keep clients informed on Fidelity’s investment capabilities and strategies and help build Fidelity’s brand awareness and reputation in the market. Identify new sales opportunities and create solutions with existing clients.

The role is based in Toronto and will require approximately 15% travel, primarily across Canada but also occasionally the United States.

What You Will Do

Ensure that accurate and comprehensive reporting is delivered to clients in a timely manner and that ad hoc requests are responded to.

Conduct investment review meetings with clients.

Direct and ensure that clients receive appropriate levels of service, including meetings, reporting, and thought leadership.

Create and update account management plans focused on implementing the client service model, client retention and cross-selling.

Partner with the sales team, the consultant relations team, the product team, and the investment teams globally to maintain and grow our institutional business.

What We’re Looking For

A minimum of 8 years of experience in the financial services industry

4-year University Degree, preferably in commerce, business, finance or economics or equivalent work experience

Bilingual proficiency (verbal and written) in both French and English is required

MBA, MSc (Finance), CFA or equivalent experience preferred

Previous registration as a dealing rep, associate advising rep, or advising rep with relevant securities commissions preferred.

What You Will Bring

Strong knowledge and experience in the CAP or DC market in Canada, in roles with a money manager, an investment consulting firm, or an insurance company with DC recordkeeping capabilities.

Strong investment management knowledge with the ability to communicate and present confidently complex information with clients particularly in investment review meetings.

Deep understanding of institutional money managers, investment consultants, and the institutional industry.

Previous experience working as a Fund Analyst or a similar technical role

Excellent account management skills and client-centric focus with the ability to define problems and create appropriate solutions.

Proven success managing and developing institutional relationships, including the retention of clients and cross-selling.
