Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Manager will be a key member of the site leadership team that is responsible for leading the production team in safely producing quality food that meets our customers’ current and future expectations.

Salary Range:

90k - 140k

Responsibilities

Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring and training while supervising and indirectly coordinating activities of 120+ employees

Involved with setting and executing strategic goals/plans for the Company

Manage and oversee the production process and all sanitation activities

Coordinates plant activities through detailed planning with supervisors and managers to ensure plant objectives are accomplished in a safe, timely and cost effective manner

Ensure SOPs and quality control standards are developed, followed and improved upon.

Work with Quality Assurance (QA) to continually improve the food safety program and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies

Work with support departments to determine materials, equipment, and labour requirements to allow the site to effectively execute the production plan

Engage employees to identify and implement process improvements that benefit the overall cost of goods and increase the performance of the production line.

Develop, track, communicate and report the operational KPI’s. Prepare and report data analysis to contribute in maintaining and developing cost standards.

Participate with engineering and maintenance to develop new capital or special projects which relate to improvement in the production process.

Work with QA and R&D groups for new product development and test runs.

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry, at least 5 years in a people leadership role

Education in business, food science, industrial engineering is preferred

Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Statistical Process Control, and Root Cause Analysis

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent ability to troubleshoot and anticipate problems

Sound knowledge of OHSA, GMP, HACCP and food quality systems

Willingness to work varied hours if needed
