We are looking for a dynamic Manager of Software Engineering & Technology Innovation who is responsible for leading the development & delivery of several industry software products as well as a key driver of technology innovation initiatives.

In this role you will:

Create a challenging and rewarding work environment for your team that encourages open communication and trust

Direct the daily operations of the team, including establishing priorities, developing and maintaining high standards of delivery, ensuring access to tools and resources, and managing schedules & workload.

Foster an environment of continuous improvement, where team members are empowered to bring forward, participate in, and lead process improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with other managers, business analysts, product owners and application architects in the initiation of new solutions and applications

Support technical leads and developers in conceptualizing and developing new applications and design sprint outcomes

Support testing leads and other quality engineers in test strategy and planning activities

Promote a culture of innovation that challenges the status quo and leverages new technologies where appropriate, by:

Creating and directing a technical innovation lab to research, test, and demo emerging technologies

Building a process to measure ROI of selected new technology

Creating a knowledge transfer and training program to ensure staff has sufficient access and tools for success with new technologies

Why you are the person we’re looking for…

You’ve demonstrated the ability to do the following, gained through education and/or experience:

Successfully managed and empowered technical agile teams, prioritizing, resolving conflict and providing direction to others while delivery quality solutions

Responsible for applications that utilize Spring Cloud Stream for various Kafka components like schema registry using Avro schema

Directed the delivery of applications using Java technologies such as: Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Spring Security, EJB, JPA/JDBC

Worked with Azure Cloud technologies (APIM, Event Grid, Logic App) and Kubernetes

Oversee solution delivery and design of REST APIs using Microservices and Microservices Design Patterns

The following is not required but will be a bonus:

Knowledge or experience with Angular

Scrum Master Certification or MS Azure Certification

Fundserv will cover the costs of maintaining the above certifications.
