Responsibilities

Risk Management matters

Development of new Firm policies and oversight and updating of various existing Firm policies

Management of Litigation affecting the Firm

Escrow Agent matters

Client Compliance Certificates

Client Engagement Agreements (Outside Counsel Guidelines)

Human Resources matters

Law Society Compliance and Professional Responsibility matters

Internal Training and Education

Firm Insurance matters

Contract review

Lobbyist Registration

General Advisory role

The review, negotiation and finalization of Outside Counsel Agreements proffered by clients and prospective clients

The Firm's response to Client Compliance Certificates and related documents (working with members of the Firm's IT group)

Qualifications

A member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta or Law Society of Ontario

Superior legal drafting skills and the ability to provide high quality and timely support to meet the Firm's corporate, strategic and operational needs

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent organizational skills

Demonstrates sound judgement with the ability to critically analyze situations and a sound understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality

Exhibits a business-minded approach to law

Ability to develop strong relationships with the leadership team and Partners throughout the Firm
