In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

In this role, you'll work in our IBM FutureNow Center, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Candidates must:

Have graduated no earlier than 2024, and will be graduating no later than June 2026.

Have a College Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree by date of Employment in Business, Commerce, Management or similar program (This program does not accept MBA or PhD candidates or graduates).

Have no more than 1 year of full-time professional related work experience.

Be eligible to work in Canada without current or future needs for visa sponsorship (PR, or Canadian citizenship preferred).

Must be located in Nova Scotia, Canada, or willing to relocate.

Must be eligible for clearance and have lived in Canada for at least 5 years.

SAP is a multinational software corporation that develops enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations. IBM is a premier SAP business partner with a large team located at our Halifax location. Since 2013, our SAP practice has nurtured the careers of our new graduates from entry-level consultants to roles in leadership positions. You will have support from multiple years of previous new graduates who have grown their careers within the IBM SAP practice and can provide mentorship. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented SAP Technical consultant to join our team in Halifax. The SAP Practice has grown to 160+ SAP Professionals in Halifax.

An SAP Functional Consultant can expect one of the following responsibilities:

Finance:

Configure and customize SAP Finance modules like FI (Finance), CO (Controlling), and Transparent Accounting. Design and implement financial processes, workflows, and reports. Assist with cost center accounting, intercompany transactions, and profitability analysis.

Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and design tailored SAP solutions that align with their objectives.

Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, functional designs, test cases, and user manuals.

Assist in training sessions, workshops, and knowledge transfer activities for clients or internal teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Stay current with SAP product developments, enhancements, and best practices to ensure continuous learning and growth.

Required technical and professional expertise

You can work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, and develop and support innovative applications for our highly valued customers.

You enjoy working in a team environment with team members of a diverse background and skill set along with being comfortable working on your own to complete individual assigned tasks.

You enjoy working with the public and have demonstrated excellent customer experience skills.

You have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and executives.

You can learn new processes quickly. You enjoy problem solving and delivering innovative solutions to complex problems that address client needs.

You are great at solving problems and implementing solutions to complex issues.Knowledge of compliance regulations & Industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

You have basic knowledge or hands on experience in one or more of the following technology areas: Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, Service Now, or Azure DevOps.

Exposure to SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors and other SAP technologies is an asset.

Preferred technical and professional experience

SAP Finance Solutions Exposure: Exposure to SAP Finance solutions, including designing and configuring solutions to meet client needs, with a good understanding of and/or hands‑on experience in the system.

Techno‑Functional Solution Exposure: Exposure to techno‑functional solution expertise, utilizing business and industry knowledge, business processes to effectively integrate packaged technology solutions.

Business Process Acumen: Exposure to business processes, leveraging expertise to meet client needs and achieve comprehensive solution delivery.
