We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about writing the tools to integrate and support building large‑scale, high‑demand software in a fast‑paced agile environment. You will share our passion for test‑driven development, continuous integration and automation to produce frequent high‑quality releases.

Our engineering team is fast, innovative and flexible; with a weekly release cycle and individual ownership. You will get an opportunity to work in scaling our infrastructure to the next generation. Our scale is already huge in running tens of thousands of tests for every commit automatically. This comes with challenges in speed by reducing compute time from days to a few minutes.

Responsibilities

Be part of the team that builds, maintains, and improves our highly‑automated build, release and testing infrastructure.

Script, build tools, and automate the internal use of continuous delivery tools.

Team up with Development, QA and Ops to continuously innovate and enhance our build and automation infrastructure.

Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to create new tools, processes and technology. Experiment with, recommend, and implement new technologies in our build and CI system.

Work with internal customers to roll‑out projects and processes, monitor adoption, collect feedback, and fine‑tune the project to respond to internal customers’ needs.

Requirements

3+ years of experience with one or more programming languages including Python, Go, Java, JavaScript.

Good understanding of application development, micro‑services architecture and successful elements of a multi‑service ecosystem.

Ability to coordinate cross‑functional work toward task completion.

Understanding of Agile methodologies is a plus.

Past experience working on AWS or Kubernetes.

Good understanding of virtualization, dynamic provisioning, Docker, AWS and Linux.

Experience in Kubernetes is a plus.

B.S. Computer Science or equivalent.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between $130,000—$194,000 CAD.

Some roles may require travel to one of our office locations for in‑person onboarding.
