R27336**Job Description**Reporting to the Manager of Finance and Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for processing and analyzing of financial data, driving financial performance and ensure financial compliance with government funding regulations.The successful candidate will bring critical thinking, a strong attention to detail and a desire to “dig in” to learn the business while being mindful of the strong culture and commitment of the Company to provide the best care possible for our patients and residents across Canada.This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.**Key responsibilities include:*** Perform and interpret variance analysis across the general ledger accounts and financial reports, identifying root causes and impacts* Prepare and review financial reports, responding to internal, auditor and regulatory inquiries* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations* Prepare annual reconciliations, including the identification of unearned or recoverable amounts payable to the Ministry of Health* Apply professional judgment in the interpretation of funding and reporting requirements to ensure accurate and compliant submissions* Compile necessary documentation from various departments to support compliance reporting* Drive finance process improvement by applying a fresh perspective and creative problem solving* Manage auditor requests and submissions to external parties on behalf of the company.* Complete other duties as assigned**What we’re looking for:*** Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting* 3+ years' experience in operations finance and/or accounting related role* CPA certification required (completed or in final stages)* Advance Excel level is required* Strong communication skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment* Accounting experience with large-scale Enterprise Reporting systems, knowledge of Workday preferred**What Extendicare has to offer:**At Extendicare, we believe that working as a team creates an environment that allows us to reach our potential.
