Group Summary The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front‑end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets. Recognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state‑of‑the‑art vehicles across the world.

Salary $65,000 - $75,000

Vacancy Status Immediate, Open Position

Responsibilities

Support/Implement continuous improvement projects to address quality, material flow, through‑put and productivity improvements

Provide engineered operational analysis and production support to manufacturing

Evaluate and implement corrective actions

Coordinate & lead C.I. projects with suppliers

Support launch team and launch activities

Complete Ergonomic Design Checklists

Perform ergonomic studies, develop tools that will reduce ergonomic risk to operators

Develop layouts for moulding and assembly process which will improve efficiency, reduce floor space and health and safety of operators

Create standardized work instructions

Develop moulding and assembly process for new programs

Document process through process flow, flowcharts, PFMEA’s, etc.

Assist in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process

Conduct Moulding and assembly process trials, collect data and evaluate the process to meet the customer requirements

Attend meetings as required and communicate or provide data as necessary

Lead efforts to incorporate new concepts into existing systems with particular emphasis on process repeatability, consistency, quality controls & automation and cost reduction

Actively search for ideas and ways to reduce expenses and improve quality without compromising superior customer service

Ensure financial budgets are followed

Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace

Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP

Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct

Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior

Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards

Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook

Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives

Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards

Ensure work area is kept neat and organized

Perform other duties as required

Skills/Qualifications Education

Minimum completion of post‑secondary education in a technical field

Mechatronics Engineering is preferred

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong project leadership skills

Proficient in AutoCAD

Thinks conceptually and intuitively from a lean perspective

Drives for continuous improvement

Excellent computer skills in word & spreadsheet programs

Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems

Strong interpersonal skills

Well-developed organizational and time management skills
