Lead Cost Controller

Position Overview AtkinsRéalis is a Canadian nuclear engineering group dedicated to engineering a better future for the planet and its people. We work on major engineering projects worldwide, improving daily lives of communities. This role is a Cost Control Lead within our Mississauga team.

Location Mississauga, ON

Responsibilities

Ensure project set‑up conforms to Project Controls processes and procedures.

Monitor, control, and report program and project performance throughout the program life.

Lead a team of Cost Control professionals.

Advise and propose solutions to prevent project objectives from being missed and recommend cost optimizations.

Oversee timely and accurate cost report updates at the end of each reporting period for the project control accounts.

Trend actuals data and analyze forecast.

Provide regular reports on project cost status, cost deviations, and recommend remedial actions.

Ensure proper commitment tracking and reporting for purchase orders.

Provide regular reports on project time accumulation, analyze budget variances, recommend remedial actions.

Provide input to client reporting.

Prepare forward‑looking project and business cash‑flow forecasts.

Support coordination of the project Control Managers of the change management process.

Lead the implementation of ECOSYS on the project.

Interface with other project controls staff and planners to maintain an integrated cost‑schedule system.

Interface with planners on deliverables’ progress to update estimate‑to‑complete.

Present to team members as required.

Act as Single Point of Contact for all Cost/Finance related enquiries for the project.

Lead the support and preparation of Government funding application.

Special assignments, ad‑hoc reports, and other related duties as required.

Qualifications

University degree (Bachelors).

Minimum 10 years Cost Control experience – up to Lead level.

Ability to manage multiple requests.

Ability to manage programs (multiple projects and initiatives within a program).

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access database, and Visual Basic programming in both.
