Job Description

Data Center Manager Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.

AWS is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding and the drive and vision to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level. All candidates should be willing to work both independently and managing their teams effectively. Work prioritisation, organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to strong knowledge in Data Centers, hardware and network repair, candidates will create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site‑level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.

This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

Due to the nature of the role that requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingualism French and English is required for this position.

A Day in the Life: Data Center Manager The day begins with a review of overnight alerts and the open ticket queue. By stand‑up, priorities are set, work is assigned, and the team is aligned on what needs to move.

Mid‑morning shifts to people leadership. One‑on‑ones, career development conversations, and interviews are a regular part of the week. Growing the team is as important as running it.

Afternoons bring KPI reviews, cross‑functional calls with engineering, capacity planning, and facilities teams, and process improvement work that keeps operations running smoothly across multiple sites.

When a large scale event hits, the role shifts to call leader. Fast decisions, clear communication, and a structured response are what the team and the business depend on.

No two days are identical. That is what makes this role worth showing up for.
