MST (Atlantic) Shipping Management ULC is currently accepting resumes for the below position working offshore Atlantic Canada. This a contract position for 12 months with a 12-hour workday. Vessel: Maran Thule

Position: Electrical Technical Officer - Available 2 positions

Annual Salary: $180,000

Rotation: Approximately six weeks on/off

Contract: March 1, 2026 - February 28, 2027

Position Summary Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Electrical Technician Officer is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all electrical machinery and associated controls on board the vessel. He/she is to perform all planned maintenance activities in accordance with the vessel programs as instructed by the Chief Engineer.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

Proficiency in English required

2+ years experience in rank

Electro-technical Officer Endorsement (COC) or equivalent

Bahamas Flag Basic Tanker Safety (Oil) Endorsement

STCW Basic Safety

STCW Survival craft other than a fast rescue craft

STCW Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties

Unlimited Medical Health Certificate

Training in the following specialized systems:

DP Maintenance Course K-Pos Kongsberg

High Voltage Certificate

Hipap Technical Course

Dynamic Positioning relevant courses: Artemis, BLOM, DGPS/DARPS Maintenance

Experience in working with NSE (Planned Maintenance System)

Demonstrate safety awareness

Valid Passport

Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, Alcohol Screening and Background /Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

Responsibilities

Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.

Report any unsafe acts or failure to comply with regulations and/or company procedures to the Master.

Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed to provide a safe working environment and minimize the potential for pollution.

Reporting any unsafe acts or failure to comply with regulations and/or company procedures to the Master.

Maintaining all electric power generation, distribution, switchgear and consumers. Assisting responsible officers in the maintenance of electrical or electronic equipment, including the Radio Room or GMDSS installation, the electronic navigational equipment, and the DP System with reference equipment as applicable.

Maintaining distribution cables and associated equipment.

Controlling and carrying out UPS and battery maintenance as scheduled and described in the planned maintenance system.

Carrying out function tests and maintenance of the automation plant together with the assigned Engineer.Maintaining the fire-detecting plant and internal communication equipment.

Carrying out control maintenance and logging for the Marine Growth and Impressed Current systems.

Maintaining the automation and control system of all cranes.

Maintaining navigation equipment in conjunction with navigation officers.

Carrying out a weekly inspection and test of the emergency generator and switchboard.

Ensuring the correct stock of electrical spares is maintained, stored, and ordered through the established mechanism onboard.

Calibration of plant monitoring instrumentation, and replacement at the correct intervals of PC-based control equipment memory backup batteries.

Maintenance and repair of electrical and pneumatic control equipment and instrumentation.
