Division Manager
of our Terrace office. This role is ideal for someone who’s built a strong foundation in consulting and is now looking to lead a multidisciplinary team, shape business strategy, and make a lasting impact in a thriving community.
As Division Manager, you’ll be empowered to grow your leadership skills while guiding a team of engineers and technologists, while working alongside other civil, structural, survey and environmental teams. You’ll take ownership of project delivery, client relationships, and business development—supported by a collaborative network of regional experts and corporate resources. Whether you’re ready to lead your first division or expand your influence in a new region, this role offers the autonomy, mentorship, and challenge to help you thrive.
Note: While our preference is for the selected candidate to be based in Terrace, we are open to candidates located in Kitimat, Smithers, or Prince Rupert.

What You’ll Do
Lead and manage the Terrace division, including business operations, staff development, and project oversight.
Drive business development and client relationship management to grow the division’s market presence.
Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers (P.Eng & EIT’s) and civil technologists.
Oversee project delivery to ensure quality, profitability, and alignment with client expectations.
Collaborate with other McElhanney offices and corporate teams to leverage resources and share best practices.
Represent McElhanney in the community and with key stakeholders to enhance our local profile.
What You’ll Bring
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia (or eligibility).
6+ years of progressive experience in consulting engineering, including leadership of teams and projects.
Proven business development skills and a strong network in the civil infrastructure or resource sectors.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage operational performance.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
A collaborative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $155,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
