About Mint Health + Drugs
Mint Health + Drugs is a fast-growing, multi-site pharmacy group operating across Alberta and British Columbia. We’re building strong foundations, developing leaders, and creating consistent people practices across multiple locations.
We’re hiring an HR Generalist / HR Business Partner who has the skills and the personality to thrive in a high-trust, high-pace environment where no two days look the same.
The role at a glance
This is a full-time, permanent position. You can be based in Edmonton or Victoria. If you’re in Victoria, you’ll work from home initially, and then transition to working from our Victoria regional office once it opens. If you’re in Edmonton this is an in office role with the ability to work occasionally from home.
Who you’ll be working with
You’ll join a small but mighty HR team that includes a Payroll Administrator, a strong HR Coordinator, and an experienced HR Manager. We’re collaborative, practical, and focused on helping the business run well—without losing the human side.
Why this role matters
This isn’t a “narrow lane” HR job. The range is wide: coaching managers, building tools and templates, handling employee relations, supporting investigations and performance conversations, helping with recruitment and onboarding, tightening up processes, and stepping into whatever needs support that week.
If you like variety, solving problems, and being the person who brings calm and clarity—this will be a great fit.
What you’ll do (a mix of HRBP + hands-on generalist work):
Manager support and coaching: Help leaders navigate performance, attendance, conflict, and day-to-day people leadership.
Employee relations: Handle sensitive issues with confidence and discretion, including fact-finding, investigations, documentation, and recommendations.
Performance management: Build clear expectations, coach leaders through tough conversations, and help create practical plans that actually work.
Policies and processes: Create simple, usable HR tools, templates, and processes that scale across multiple sites.
Onboarding and offboarding: Support a consistent, professional employee experience and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
HR operations support: Jump in where needed—letters, documentation, role changes, basic reporting, and special projects.
Recruitment support: Partner with leaders and the HR team to keep hiring moving and improve the manager/candidate experience.
Culture and engagement: Help reinforce what “good” looks like at Mint—accountability, clarity, teamwork, and respect.
The personality we’re looking for
Steady, confident, and calm—especially when things are emotional or urgent.
Approachable and kind, but also comfortable being direct.
Practical and solutions-focused (not overly theoretical).
Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
Not precious about titles or tasks—willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
Great at building trust with managers and employees across different locations.
What you bring
Required:
3–7+ years of progressive HR experience (generalist and/or HRBP), ideally in a multi-site environment.
Strong working knowledge of HR practices and employment standards in Alberta and/or BC (experience with both is an asset).
Solid employee relations and documentation skills (you know how to write things down properly).
Ability to coach and influence leaders at different levels.
Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
Excellent organization, follow-through, and communication.
Nice to have:
Experience in healthcare, retail, pharmacy, or other fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
HRIS experience and comfort with reporting (Dayforce and BambooHR experience is a bonus).
Exposure to WCB/return-to-work processes, investigations, and policy development.
What success looks like
Managers feel supported and clear on next steps after they work with you.
Employee issues are handled promptly, fairly, and consistently—with excellent documentation.
The HR team runs smoother because you take ownership and clear bottlenecks.
Processes improve because you’re always thinking, “How do we make this easier next time?”
Why Mint
You’ll have real influence, real variety, and a team that genuinely works together. If you love being in the thick of HR—building, fixing, coaching, improving—this is one of those roles where you’ll never be bored and you’ll see your impact fast.
