Housekeeping Attendant (Houseman)

Position Summary
The Housekeeping Attendant (Houseman) plays a key operational role within the Housekeeping Department. Working in direct support of Room Attendants and the Executive Housekeeper, this position ensures efficient logistics, continuous supply replenishment, internal transport of equipment, and contributes to guestroom cleaning as required.
This is a physically demanding role requiring stamina, efficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to the service standards expected in a luxury hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support to Room Attendants
Strip beds and remove soiled linens and used towels from guest rooms.
Transport dirty linen to the laundry facility following established procedures.
Replenish Room Attendants with clean linens, towels, guest amenities, and required supplies.
Ensure housekeeping carts are fully stocked and properly organized.
Clean guestrooms as needed (departures, stayovers, rush rooms, or during high occupancy).
Follow established cleaning protocols and presentation standards consistent with a high-end property.
2. Internal Logistics and Transportation
Transport linens, amenities, and supplies between storage areas and guestroom floors.
Drive the property golf cart (kart) to transport equipment and employees to designated hotel areas as required.
Ensure safe handling and transportation of materials and equipment.
Maintain storage rooms, service areas, and back-of-house spaces in clean and orderly condition.
3. Support to the Executive Housekeeper
Assist with receiving and verifying incoming shipments.
Organize and store inventory in the warehouse or linen room.
Report inventory discrepancies or low stock levels.
Participate in inventory control of linens, cleaning products, and guest supplies.
Additional Duties – Luxury Hospitality Standards
Adhere strictly to cleanliness, sanitation, and disinfection protocols.
Maintain discretion and respect guest privacy at all times.
Report maintenance issues, damages, or lost and found items promptly.
Ensure corridors, service areas, and guest-accessible spaces remain spotless.
Follow occupational health and safety guidelines, including safe lifting and ergonomic practices.
Collaborate with Front Desk and Maintenance teams as needed.
Contribute positively to the overall guest experience through professionalism and courteous conduct.
Qualifications
Good physical condition; ability to lift, carry, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time.
Strong organizational skills and operational efficiency.
Team-oriented mindset.
Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality standards.
Previous hotel housekeeping experience considered an asset.
Working Conditions
Variable schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Fast-paced environment, particularly during peak season.
Physically demanding role requiring endurance and stamina.
