Why This Role Is Important To Us
We are looking for a Director to lead our Americas Middle & Back Office Solutions Engineering team who would be part of our Americas Solution Engineering Leadership Team. The Middle & Back Office Solutions Engineering (“PreSales”) team is focused on middle & back‑office workflows (IBOR, ABOR, Accounting, Corporate Actions, Collateral Management) to showcase our investment platform capabilities to prospective and existing clients across the buy‑side. You will work closely with the sales teams and guide them to make optimal decisions about their approach to opportunities, and explain how SimCorp supports the newest industry trends. You will be a key liaison with product teams on providing market feedback and staying up-to-date on the many new developments being built within the platform. You will coordinate with teams across the globe for shared intelligence and assistance on deals where required SME resources globally.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of Solution Engineers, providing strategic direction, guidance, and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of value‑driven advisory services.
Collaborate with sales, product, and client teams to define and implement tailored solutions that meet client needs and business objectives.
Provide expert advisory support to senior management and key clients, identifying opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
Manage and oversee the delivery of advisory projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and deliver measurable results.
Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted advisor and ensuring ongoing client satisfaction.
Stay abreast of industry trends, challenges, and market shifts, providing thought leadership and innovative solutions that help clients stay competitive.
Work closely with the commercial teams to identify new opportunities for business growth, ensuring that SimCorp’s solutions meet evolving client needs.
Measure the impact of advisory engagements and communicate success stories and business outcomes to clients and internal stakeholders.
Ensure the continuous improvement of advisory practices, methodologies, and tools to optimize client engagements and deliver enhanced value.
Lead and manage client advisory projects to drive business value and client success.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that SimCorp’s solutions are tailored to meet client business needs and goals.
Develop relationships with senior client stakeholders to foster trust and strategic partnerships.
Allocate technical resources for each business growth opportunity.
Develop team capabilities and ensure the right career paths to create a robust presales organization.
Cultivate high employee engagement and a common culture/sense of belonging for the business.
Participate in deal reviews and general qualification with the sales teams using established sales best practices.
Develop presales intelligence to support ongoing improvement efforts.
What We Value (Requirements)
15+ years of experience in investment management within the financial services industry, with 5+ years of experience leading teams.
Knowledge and insights into buy‑side technology industry and its structure, trends and hurdles; prior experience in middle and back‑office buy‑side technology is essential.
Familiarity with various types of financial instruments: from vanilla securities and derivatives to complex structured instruments (static data, trade life cycle, valuation).
Solid presentation and communication (both written and oral) skills are essential.
Empathy‑driven relationship builder, able to collaborate cross‑functionally within SimCorp’s employee base as well as with external partners and clients.
Capability to handle multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines efficiently.
Ability to create and delegate challenging tasks to further the development of individual employees within the team.
Willingness to travel as required.
Flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week under the hybrid policy.

New York City Only – Compensation
The salary range for this position is $184,000 – $270,000 USD. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans. Total compensation may vary based on role, location, department, and individual performance.
