Manager, Executive Compensation (Contract)
Opportunity: As a representative of Head Office Finance, this role provides governance over share‑based compensation accounting and reporting ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place. The role also ensures compliance with regulatory reporting requirements related to RBC Annual Reports/Proxy and other disclosures.
Contract length: 3‑month contract with strong likelihood of extension.
Responsibilities
Account for and report stock‑based compensation plans including FUP, PDSUP plans and stock option plans.
Maintain central expertise in reporting and accounting of stock‑based compensation plans.
Coordinate and execute financial statement preparation for stock‑based compensation information for RBC group of companies.
With HR, maintain inventory of all stock‑based compensation plans.
With Treasury, review and maintain hedging requirements for existing stock‑based plans and the accounting for the hedges.
Coordinate year‑end/quarterly reporting for RBC Annual Report and its subsidiaries related to stock‑based compensation plans.
Stay abreast of relevant pronouncements in IFRS and industry practices related to stock‑based compensation plans.
Actively develop and implement a framework to link key drivers to stock‑based costs.
Participate in special projects and development work, enhancing knowledge of HR finance/accounting issues.
Qualifications
2+ years in Financial Analyst or Compensation Analyst capacity.
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or related field.
Strong accounting and analytical skills.
CPA or CFA, obtained or in progress, is a strong asset.
Excellent advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
Initiative, creative thinking, teamwork, and ability to work independently with multiple priorities.
