Duration: Short‑term (approx. 2 years) – Full‑time.
The Director, Financial Performance reports to the Associate Vice President, Finance and provides strategic leadership in internal budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight. The role advances financial stewardship across BC Housing by ensuring internal financial data informs executive decision‑making, resource allocation, and organizational performance. The Director leads the development of internal financial reporting for the Executive Committee, Board of Commissioners, and other governance bodies.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage internal financial reporting, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and accountability frameworks.
Evaluate budget utilization and resource alignment across programs, identifying opportunities to optimize performance and manage budget pressures.
Champion the use of technology as an enabler of financial stewardship, aligning systems with business needs and supporting forecasting discipline.
Lead cross‑functional transformation initiatives, embedding financial accountability into organizational change efforts and supporting Strategy 2030 implementation.
Provide leadership in research, financial analysis, and complex financial matters.
Mentor and motivate staff in a team setting.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or Public Administration.
Member in good standing of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Association.
Considerable senior‑level experience working in or with government.
Extensive experience in progressively responsible finance and accounting roles, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis models within government and not‑for‑profit environments.
Knowledge of mission‑critical corporate enterprise applications such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, WebFOCUS, and the Central Property System (CPS).
Strong analytical, research, presentation, and report writing skills.
Exceptional communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead, coach, and motivate staff; build consensus with stakeholders; develop strategic options; and assess financial ramifications of new programs.
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
