Description

Responsibilities

Applied to both the process and the outcome of thinking out and specifying the overall structure, logical components, and the logical interrelationships of a computer, its operating system, a network, or other conception. Defines the structure and relationship among applications, including the identification of re-usable components, quality level metrics, the organization and layering of software, and the determination of interfaces. Responsibilities also include developing, implementing and managing at least one cross-platform application in a large and distributed environment, monitor the whole system, understand all interactions between components on a given level of abstraction, as well as to define limitations and requirements for source code.

Defines the interactions between application packages, databases and middleware systems.

General Skills

Experience in the development and implementation of application architectures at the specified experience level

Extensive experience with at least two different computing platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, programming languages and communication protocols

Experience with middleware and gateways

Knowledge of performance considerations in different environments

Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of applications

Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments

Experience in the use of development tools, Computer Aided Software Engineering ( C A S E ) tools, information retrieval packages, and other software tools such as project management software and business re-engineering software

Experience in the use of data and process modelling methodologies, techniques and tools, including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries

Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models)

Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and directions Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills

A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

Desirable Skills

Knowledge and understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques

Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) based on Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture methodologies, processes and practice

Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices

Experience designing detailed functional and technical requirements for new and existing business solutions Experience developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models and documentation)

Experience leading multi-tier application infrastructure design, documentation and configuration for medium or large corporate implementations

Experience designing, developing, implementing and maintaining large complex applications, workflow processes and dynamic forms

API Management Knowledge (40%)

Extensive experience in Microsoft Azure Solutions Planning

Experience design & implementation with Azure Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge of Microsoft Online implementations â Office 365, Power Apps, Flows, SharePoint Knowledge of Microsoft Implementations â API Management

Design, build and sustainment of IT Applications (35%)

Extensive experience supporting and maintaining OpenText Content Suite applications across multiple lower and production environments Experience in designing & implementation with Microservices architecture. Experience with DevOps Experience with Pipelines & Builds Experience designing and implementing Big Data repositories. Experience with designing/implementing Business Intelligence systems Experience designing and implementing NOSQL databases such as Cosmos DB (Document DB) or any document-oriented database program (SQL). Experience for planning, designing, and reviewing the construction of APIs Experience with evaluating and onboarding vendor APIs Experience producing intuitive and highly consumable APIs Experience producing documentation for client developers Experience managing an API Management platform

Analytical, Problem Solving and Communication Skills (20%)

Proven ability to lead organizational development, strategy development, business planning. Strong experience ensuring knowledge is shared among team members such project objectives and deliverables are met. Working knowledge resolving resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiating changes to resourcing.

Public Sector experience (5%)

Experience with Public Sector I&IT standards and best practices facilitating control of systems quality, adherence to standard methodology and the control of the use of I&IT resources would be an asset.

Must Have

Experience with OpenText
