Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
AWS Platform Engineer
with strong
DevOps engineering expertise
to design, build, automate, and optimize our cloud-native infrastructure on AWS. This role will be responsible for platform reliability, CI/CD automation, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud security best practices while enabling development teams to deliver scalable and resilient applications.
The ideal candidate combines deep AWS architecture knowledge with hands-on DevOps implementation experience across infrastructure, automation, observability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
Develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Architect multi-account AWS environments with governance and guardrails.
Implement high-availability, fault-tolerant, and disaster recovery solutions.
DevOps & Automation
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration management.
Implement containerization and orchestration solutions using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
Enable blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies.
Reliability & Observability
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.
Drive SRE best practices including SLIs, SLOs, and incident response automation.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative improvements.
Security & Compliance
Implement IAM best practices, least-privilege models, and role-based access control.
Integrate DevSecOps practices into pipelines (SAST/DAST, vulnerability scanning).
Ensure compliance with corporate security and regulatory standards.
Manage secrets and encryption standards (KMS, Secrets Manager).
Partner with application teams to define cloud architecture patterns and deployment standards.
Provide technical guidance on AWS services, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
Contribute to platform documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, CloudFront, Route53, etc.).
Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred).
Experience building CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments.
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
Experience with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes (EKS).
Understanding of networking fundamentals (VPC design, subnets, routing, load balancers, DNS).
Experience implementing monitoring and logging frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
Experience with multi-region architectures and global deployments.
Familiarity with GitOps practices.
Experience with cost optimization and FinOps principles.
Experience supporting regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, etc.).
Strong problem-solving and automation mindset
Ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams
Ownership mentality with a focus on platform reliability and continuous improvement
