Director of Finance

Our well-respected real estate and land development client is seeking a Director of Finance to join their close-knit team. With a focus on acquiring, developing, and managing income-producing properties using a strategic and integrity-driven approach, this individual will provide leadership across a group of entities, oversee a small accounting team, and drive overall financial strategy and performance. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the ideal candidate is a hands-on and proactive leader who takes initiative and operates with confidence and independence. They bring a continuous improvement mindset, remain calm under pressure, and always demonstrate a high level of professionalism. Main responsibilities include:

Lead the accounting functions and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and oversee all financial performance

Ensure the company complies with accounting standards and all reporting requirements for lenders, partners, and tax authorities

Support new developments and acquisitions with a proper financial setup and oversight

Manage banking, audits, external advisors, and investor relationships

Qualifications

Completed CPA designation and post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting

Minimum 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervising and mentoring a team

Comprehensive knowledge of ASPE

Proficient in Excel

Experience in real estate, property management or high-tech sector considered a strong asset

Experience in a multi-company environment or experience with MS Business Central is considered an asset

Compensation

$140,000 - $150,000 annual salary range
