Position Managing Quantity Surveyor – Peterborough

Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an award winning infrastructure contractor on a £300m project in Peterborough. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in a multi‑million pound investment designed to modernise the regional energy network and future‑proof the UK’s path to Net Zero. Key Responsibilities

Designing and implementing robust commercial strategies to maximise margin

Agree terms with subcontracts (NEC4) whilst ensuring risk is apportioned whilst delivering best value to the client

Challenge cost value reports and forecasts, maintaining a detailed "bottom‑up" outlook

Oversee the change management process

Providing regular project updates to the commercial leadership team

Act as a mentor to junior surveyors, offering advice and guidance where required

What We’re Looking For

Ideally chartered or working towards chartered status

An in-depth knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts

The ability to make confident and informed decisions whilst under pressure

Excellent written communication skills and confident when working as part of a large, diverse project team

Benefits

Starting salary of £72,000 to £85,000

Company car or £7,000 travel allowance

27 days leave + bank holidays
