About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on
HR Business Partner
to support retail operations across multiple provinces and brands. This role partners directly with Store Managers, District Managers, and senior leadership to drive performance, strengthen employee relations, ensure compliance, and support organizational growth in a fast‑paced retail environment.
The HRBP acts as a trusted advisor, change partner, and operational leader across the full employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary HR Partner supporting retail leadership across multiple stores and provinces.
Advise managers on employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, and terminations.
Conduct workplace investigations and guide corrective actions, PIPs, and risk mitigation processes.
Ensure compliance with provincial Employment Standards across ON, QC, AB, and BC.
Lead annual performance review cycles, calibration discussions, and merit processes.
Coach leaders on talent development, succession planning, and delivering effective feedback.
Oversee HR documentation and processes within HR systems and ensure data integrity.
Analyze HR metrics and workforce data to inform strategic business decisions.
Facilitate leadership training sessions and develop HR resources, templates, and policies.
Support implementation of engagement initiatives and employee satisfaction surveys.
Promote and monitor Health & Safety compliance, supporting incident investigations, workplace inspections, and adherence to provincial OHS regulations.
Qualifications
University degree required; CHRP designation preferred, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist or HRBP capacity (retail preferred).
Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, with cross‑provincial expertise.
Proven experience in employee relations, recruitment, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Solid understanding of provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and Health & Safety regulations.
High level of maturity, discretion, integrity, and sound judgment when handling confidential matters.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence leaders at all levels of the organization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Pay range: $80,000 - 90,000/annually
