Role Overview We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support and grow our global software business. As a member of QNX’s talented and collegial legal team, you will draft and negotiate various legal agreements, and support the senior members of the legal department on a wide range of matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, marketing/advertising, intellectual property issues, and legal research.

Your Responsibilities

Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including software license agreements, services agreements, partnering agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and related agreements.

Advise and provide guidance on legal issues relating to commercial terms.

Provide legal support on a wide variety of matters to mitigate legal risks while advancing business initiatives in compliance with corporate policies.

Respond to business queries and evaluate and mitigate risks to provide appropriate legal solutions.

Qualifications

LLB or JD, with admission to practice law in Ontario.

Proven legal experience in commercial law, contracts, ideally in the technology sector.

Exceptional drafting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Strong communication abilities – both written and verbal.

Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently.

Attention to detail, adaptability, and a “can‑do” attitude.

Employment Details

Employment type: Full-time

Work schedule: 40 hours per week

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Remote; occasional visits to Waterloo)

Salary: CA$130,000 – CA$170,000 per year

Worker Sub‑Type: Regular
