Overview
As Project Counsel, you’ll play a key role in some of WSP’s most transformative infrastructure and advisory projects across Canada. Your work helps shape communities, guide large‑scale project execution, and strengthen the legal frameworks that support complex, high‑impact initiatives.
Your Impact
Provide strategic legal guidance across all project phases, ensuring compliance and effective risk mitigation.
Collaborate with commercial teams, project managers, and executive leadership to align legal strategies with business objectives.
Act as the primary legal resource on assigned projects, interpreting contracts and responding to legal inquiries.
Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements, including progressive design‑build, design‑build and alliance contracts.
Engage with external stakeholders—clients, delivery partners, and government agencies—to support project success.
Support dispute resolution and claims management with a solutions‑driven approach.
Contribute to national best‑practice development within WSP’s Canadian Legal team.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Licensed to practice law in a Canadian province or territory, with 7+ years of infrastructure, construction, or commercial law experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage the legal aspects of large, multidisciplinary projects.
Strong understanding of Canadian procurement processes and alternative delivery models.
Comfortable navigating complex stakeholder groups and providing decisive legal guidance.
A passion for shaping communities through meaningful, high‑impact legal work.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT:
$135,200 – $179,100
MB & ON:
$123,300 – $169,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC:
$122,100 – $162,200
