Associate Lawyer

Associate Lawyer – Criminal Defense & Regulatory Litigation Goldbloom Ross Cunningham LLP is seeking an associate lawyer with a passion for criminal defence, appeals, and professional discipline/regulatory litigation to join us.

We are looking for an associate who shares our commitment to advocacy, client service, and professional excellence. The ideal candidate has 0-5 years of call, is interested in managing and litigating their own trial and appellate matters, and acting as co-counsel on more complex cases.

Responsibilities

Independently handle a range of criminal cases, including bail hearings, trials, and appeals;

Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written submissions and facta;

Attend court regularly and engage in negotiations with Crown counsel;

Handle and assist on a range of professional discipline and regulatory cases, including representing medical and justice system professionals;

Provide strategic legal advice to clients with professionalism and compassion;

Work collaboratively with senior counsel and support staff to deliver top‑tier advocacy.

Qualifications Strong research and writing skills, a commitment to ethics, creative thinking, and an ability to work independently and with a team. Time management, integrity, and fit are priorities. Prior criminal law experience is an asset but is not required.
