The ideal candidate for the Head of Sales role is a seasoned sales leader based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with a strong track record in natural stone, masonry, concrete, or related construction sectors. They bring at least ten years of experience and a well-established network of developers, general contractors, architects, engineers, designers, and distributors across the GTA. This individual has successfully grown business in underdeveloped or greenfield markets and understands how to drive both direct and specification-based sales. They know how to activate and expand dealer and distributor channels, influence early design decisions, and quickly build credibility across both the stone and construction communities. The ideal candidate arrives with a clear understanding of where opportunities exist in the GTA, and the ability to help Atwill-Morin and Ducharme Natural Stone accelerate growth to levels comparable with the company’s mature Montréal market.
This person is also a strong people leader capable of building and scaling a high-performing team. They will inherit a small sales group but will have the opportunity to expand and recruit additional talent, shaping the team to fit their leadership style and strategic priorities. They can coach, mentor, set expectations, and lead by example while spending a good majority of their time in the field developing clients and closing opportunities. They collaborate effectively with senior leaders including Jean Marc Dupont (Vice President, Business Solutions) and Fabio Fialho (Area Manager – President, Toronto) and bring the discipline needed to implement sales processes, manage the pipeline, and create structure in a fast-growing region. Technologically, the ideal candidate is confident with CRM platforms and is willing to adopt modern digital tools. Personally, they are positive, credible, relationship-driven, and ambitious, with the long-term potential to grow with the organization.
Position Description
Atwill-Morin is seeking a Head of Sales for the Greater Toronto Area to lead commercial growth across the masonry and concrete divisions, as well as the natural stone division operated through Ducharme Natural Stone.
The role represents a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced sales professional with strong regional relationships, operational awareness, and the ability to build and scale a high performing sales organization in a rapidly growing market.
The Head of Sales will serve as the senior commercial leader for the GTA, responsible for revenue generation, market development, and the positioning of all business lines under management.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment and brings a proven track record of business development in the construction or natural stone industries.
The Head of Sales will work closely with the executive team to establish and develop a new commercial structure for the GTA market.
Responsibilities include building a team of sales representatives, setting clear performance expectations, and developing the sales processes required to support growth.
The Head of Sales will ensure that all commercial activities align with the company’s broader strategic direction across divisions.
The role requires a strong people leader who can mentor, coach, and support the sales team through knowledge transfer and ongoing development.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum ten years of experience in a relevant sector
Significant experience in natural stone, masonry, concrete, or broader construction markets
Strong presence, credibility, and reputation within the GTA community
Advanced digital literacy and familiarity with modern sales tools, including Office applications, CRM platforms such as PipeDrive, and emerging technologies such as AI driven solutions
Experience developing and growing a distribution network is considered an asset
A positive leadership style rooted in accountability, professionalism, and leading by example
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and lasting relationships
Coaching and knowledge transfer abilities
Team management experience is an asset
An existing network in the construction ecosystem, including owners, property managers, architects, structural engineers, developers, and general contractors, or
A business network within the natural stone sector, including building material distributors, residential architects, landscape architects, designers, residential contractors, landscapers, and specialty masons
