Personal Support Worker

Le St-Augustin, a friendly private seniors' residence, is looking for several people to fill part-time daytime personal support worker positions.

***Candidates must hold a Personal Support Worker/Personal Care Attendant (PSW) or DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Personal Assistance in Institutions and at Home, or a Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) certificate, or have accumulated 5,000 hours of PAB (Personal Support Worker) training within the last 5 years + current 16-hour CPR certification + completed PDSP (Personal Support and Care Program).***

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Schedule A: 2/14 day shift position with one weekend out of two

Schedule B: 4/14 day shift position with one weekend out of two

Schedule C: 6/14 day shift position with one weekend out of two

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around

Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations

Contribute to the development of a residentsè action plan based on their observations

Distribute medication in pill organizers and provide some invasive care (as needed and provided you have the necessary training)

Respond to all emergency situations

While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Up-to-date CPR/AED general first aid training

Law 90 training (an asset)

AP/RPA or DEP training in personal assistance in establishments and at home

PDSP training
