Director of Finance

A large, diversified organization is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the operational finance function across multiple business units within one of its core divisions. This role offers significant leadership exposure, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic impact, and is ideal for a CPA-designated finance professional with strong experience in financial reporting and FP&A.

About the Role This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day finance operations across several business lines, as well as centralized accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting. The Director of Finance will lead budgeting, forecasting, operational reporting, and compliance activities while providing financial insight to support executive decision-making.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage the daily operations of the finance and accounting team, providing mentorship and oversight

Oversee the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate divisional reporting

Drive the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasts in partnership with operational leaders

Prepare and review monthly financial statements across multiple business units

Analyze revenue, cost structures, and key performance indicators to support business performance

Provide financial modelling, ad hoc analysis, and support for strategic initiatives

Strengthen internal controls by reviewing reconciliations, payables, receivables, and general ledger activity

Oversee ERP and financial reporting systems to ensure integrity of financial data

Review indirect tax filings and support audit and corporate compliance requirements

Manage government-related reporting and funding submissions as required

What You Bring

5+ years of experience leading and developing finance teams

Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical modelling

Experience operating in multi-entity or multi-division environments

Proficiency with ERP systems and financial planning tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level presentations

Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Hands‑on leadership style with strong cross‑functional collaboration skills
