Infrastructure Engineer (Azure • Elixir)
Who We Are Seeking:
We seek a talented and experienced DevOps/Distributed Systems Engineer to operate and harden our Elixir services and Hyperledger Besu nodes network on Microsoft Azure. This role presents an excellent opportunity for those looking to work in a dynamic environment and be part of a high-performing international team, offering ample opportunities for growth and development in technical and interpersonal skills.
Your Role and Responsibilities will be to design, set up, and operate:
Elixir stack – Elixir/OTP, Phoenix, Ecto, Oban, and OpenTelemetry nodes and services.
Besu on Azure – validators/peers, permissioning, bootnodes, IBFT/QBFT configs, genesis updates, hard-fork rollouts, RPC/WS endpoints behind Azure gateways.
Storage & performance – tune Besu (JVM/RocksDB), use Premium SSD v2 / Ultra Disk, optimise IOPS/throughput, and set up snapshot/restore via Azure Blob Storage.
Networking – secure VNets/subnets with Azure CNI (Cilium), NSGs, Private Endpoints/Private Link, NAT Gateway, and VNet peering/ExpressRoute.
Traffic & ingress – expose RPC/WS via Azure Application Gateway or Nginx Ingress with WAF, mTLS, rate limiting, and IP allowlists.
Secrets & keys – manage validator keys and app secrets using Key Vault / Managed HSM, Managed Identities, and least-privilege RBAC via Entra ID.
CI/CD & GitOps – deliver immutable releases with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, ACR (signing/scanning), Helm, and Argo CD or Flux.
Observability & SRE – Azure Monitor + Log Analytics, Managed or self-managed Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry traces, alerting, runbooks, SLOs and error budgets.
Essential Qualifications:
5+ years in DevOps/SRE/Platform roles running
distributed systems
in production.
Strong
Azure
background: AKS, VNet/NSG/Private Link, Key Vault, ACR, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, and Application Gateway/WAF.
Solid Linux and networking fundamentals (TLS, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing).
Proven observability practice: metrics, logs, traces, actionable alerting, SLOs/runbooks.
Excellent written and spoken
English
(daily collaboration across teams).
