Purpose of This Position

As a

Brand & Copy Strategist

, you are responsible for writing and owning all copy for the clients within your squad, ensuring that every word reflects the brand’s voice, positioning, and intent. You ensure that every piece of written content across websites, social media, email, and campaigns is on-brand, intentional, and delivered at a high standard. You bring together copywriting, brand awareness, and practical content direction to ensure brands are represented clearly and consistently through words. You act as the bridge between brand intent and execution, translating client goals and direction into clear, purposeful copy that is ready for internal review and client delivery.

Core Responsibility

Serve as the owner of brand representation through copy for your squad’s clients. Your accountability is defined by the question: “Is this copy clear, on-brand, purposeful, and strong enough to confidently move forward?”

Main Objectives

1. Content Execution & Copywriting Write high-quality, purpose-driven copy for: - Websites - Social media captions and post copy - Email campaigns - Campaign and promotional assets - Design-related copy (headlines, CTAs, supporting text) Act as the primary writer for all copy deliverables within your squad. Ensure every piece of copy is written with intention, clarity, and audience awareness. Perform copyediting on your own work to maintain consistency, grammatical excellence, and brand alignment, using tools and peers as needed.

2. Social Media Copy & Content Direction Develop and write social media copy that reflects the brand’s voice and messaging. When appropriate, define content themes and messaging direction for social platforms. When deeper strategy or clarity is required, collaborate with Special Teams to receive social content strategy support or plans. Execute all social media copy in alignment with the provided strategy and flag any gaps or unclear direction early.

3. Creative Collaboration & Brand Consistency Participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions to help define the content, messaging, and assets required for campaigns and initiatives. Provide copy-led input on creative direction to ensure consistency of brand voice, messaging, and intent across all touchpoints. Collaborate with designers, Marketing Coordinators, and Account Managers to align written and visual assets under a cohesive brand narrative. Contribute perspective beyond copy when needed to maintain brand clarity and consistency.

4. Brand Advocacy Act as the copy owner for each assigned brand, ensuring consistent voice, tone, and messaging across all written content. Apply brand guidelines and positioning directly within copy execution. Review copy deliverables to ensure they meet internal quality standards and accurately represent the brand’s intent.

Reporting Relationship This role reports to the designated Account Manager of your squad.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

1. Brand Alignment & Copy Effectiveness Ensure all copy deliverables are consistently aligned with the brand’s voice, tone, and messaging. Maintain minimal client revisions related to brand alignment, tone, or clarity. Contribute social content ideas and messaging angles when needed, ensuring alignment with the brand’s voice, positioning, and goals. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure brand consistency across copy and supporting assets. 2. Content Quality & Accuracy Deliver copy that meets internal quality standards for clarity, structure, and purpose. Maintain a low rate of client dissatisfaction related to copy quality or intent. 3. Project Delivery Timeliness Deliver copy-related tasks within agreed timelines. Collaborate with the squad to support smooth handoffs and on-time delivery of content assets.
