AWS DevOps Engineer (Remote | PJ)

100% Remote EST USA Timezone Contractor / PJ position Duration: 6-12 months

Role Overview We are seeking a AWS Cloud Automation Engineer to support the Database Engineering team. This is a hands-on, engineering-focused role

centered on CI/CD automation ,

cloud database deployment, Terraform development , and acting as a technical escalation point. This is not an operational/runbook role —

the engineer must think architecturally,

troubleshoot independently, and collaborate across multiple internal teams. ________________________________________ Core Responsibilities

Terraform Development • Write, modify, and troubleshoot Terraform configurations • Manage state, resolve drift, and support hybrid cloud deployments • Contribute to new IaC standards and patterns CI/CD Pipeline Engineering • Build and troubleshoot Jenkins pipelines • Support migration to GitHub and GitHub Actions • Diagnose failures and implement durable fixes Cloud Database Automation (AWS-focused) • Automate database provisioning (Aurora, RDS, etc.) • Work within evolving cloud automation frameworks • Partner with architecture and delivery teams Repository & Code Management •

Manage Bitbucket → GitHub migration • Maintain version control best practices • Contribute clear documentation and standards Cross-Team Collaboration • Work directly with: o Database Engineering o Architecture o Delivery & Business Partners • Serve as escalation for automation issues • Share knowledge and support junior team members Documentation & Communication • Produce clean, detailed technical documentation • Communicate clearly across all levels of the organization ________________________________________ Required Technical Skills Must-Have • Solid experience in DevOps/Cloud Engineering • Strong hands-on experience with: o Terraform (writing/developing, not just applying) o Jenkins (build, modify, troubleshoot pipelines) o AWS automation and deployments • Troubleshooting CI/CD failures and infrastructure inconsistencies • Git/Bitbucket repository management Nice-to-Have • GitHub & GitHub Actions • GCP exposure • Cloud database experience (Aurora, RDS, SQL Server, Postgres)
