Deputy Equipment & Logistics Manager | Brazil
We are looking for a
Deputy Equipment & Logistics Manager
to lead and optimize equipment management and logistics flows.
This role is critical to ensuring container availability at the right place, at the right time, and at the best cost, supporting commercial performance while maintaining strict budget control and operational efficiency.
Role Purpose
The Deputy Equipment & Logistics Manager drives regional equipment optimization, cost control, and operational excellence. The position plays a strategic role in managing inventory levels, empty container flows, maintenance performance, and logistics partnerships, ensuring alignment with regional and Head Office objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Equipment Control
Lead regional equipment and logistics operations, ensuring optimal container stock levels across Brazilian ports.
Manage and monitor logistics budgets in alignment with Operations leadership.
Track performance indicators and implement corrective measures to improve efficiency.
Analyze and optimize local and regional logistics costs.
Drive vessel loading optimization from surplus areas to improve equipment repositioning.
Lead projects from planning to execution, ensuring delivery of operational targets.
Maintenance & Repair (M&R) and Recovery
Support and monitor M&R performance to meet regional and Head Office targets.
Ensure quality standards through audit follow-up and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage dispute cases involving damaged containers, mediating between customers and service providers.
Drive cost optimization while maintaining service reliability and repair quality.
Management Scope
Leadership of large operational teams and managers.
Ownership of regional logistics initiatives and cross-functional coordination.
Strong interface with regional and global stakeholders.
Profile Requirements
Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or related fields.
Proven experience in shipping and logistics operations
, particularly in equipment management.
Strong negotiation capability with customers, suppliers, and service providers.
Strategic mindset with ability to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
