DevOps Engineer

We're looking for a DevOps / Cloud Lead who knows how to design, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure.

This role focuses heavily on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) due to a strategic partnership in that ecosystem. Many of our clients are migrating infrastructure to OCI or need help operating multi-cloud environments. We need someone who can design solutions, automate processes, and solve infrastructure problems, not just maintain pipelines.

Why this role exists We have a strategic partnership with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Clients are asking us to migrate infrastructure to OCI, and many of them also need ongoing DevOps operations and architecture support. We need someone who can own this technically. Not just executing tasks, but executing the task is an important part of the job as well. Design solutions. Talk to clients. Automate migrations. Coordinate engineers. And when necessary, jump in and fix things yourself.

TL;DR You will help lead cloud and DevOps initiatives at Quave. Your job is to: Lead cloud migrations to OCI Design cloud architectures Automate migrations and infrastructure Coordinate DevOps engineers Talk directly to clients Help build repeatable DevOps processes You must be strong in OCI, comfortable with AWS / Azure / GCP, hands-on, obsessed with automation, and comfortable discussing technical architecture with clients. English is a plus, not required.

This is not a ticket-based DevOps job If you're looking for a role where you maintain Jenkins pipelines, restart servers, open support tickets, and wait for instructions, this is not the role for you. This role is about designing and solving infrastructure problems. We want someone who can look at a system and think:

\"We can automate 80% of this.\" And then actually build the automation.

What you'll actually do Cloud Architecture Design infrastructure for systems running in OCI, AWS, Azure, and GCP, migrating from one to another.

Cloud Migrations A lot of our work will be migrations like AWS → OCI, Azure → OCI, GCP → OCI. Your job is not just to do the migration, but to help us turn migrations into repeatable processes, scripts, templates, automation and tooling so that each migration becomes easier than the last.

Automation We want to automate everything that can be automated: Automated infrastructure provisioning Migration scripts CI/CD pipelines Environment replication Monitoring setups If you like writing scripts that replace hours of manual work, you'll enjoy this role.

Client Discussions You will often join calls with clients to understand infrastructure problems, design migration strategies, estimate effort, and propose solutions. You must be comfortable discussing technical topics clearly.

Leading DevOps Engineers As the DevOps work grows, you'll coordinate other engineers working on projects, reviewing architecture, guiding implementations, and ensuring quality.

What we're looking for You probably have many years working with infrastructure. But more importantly, you have good instincts about systems. You likely: Love automating infrastructure Hate manual processes Can quickly understand unfamiliar systems Are comfortable debugging production environments Enjoy designing architectures Can communicate clearly with both engineers and clients You should also be comfortable using AI tools to accelerate your work. Tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor can dramatically increase productivity when used well. We expect you to take advantage of that.

Technical Expectations Cloud Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) - important AWS Azure GCP DevOps Docker Kubernetes Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools CI/CD pipelines Linux systems administration Networking fundamentals Automation Comfortable writing scripts in Bash, Python, Go, or similar.

Languages Portuguese required. English is a plus as some clients are international, so it may eventually become useful in the future, but it's not required.
