Job Title:- Senior Dynamics GP Administrator

Role summary
Seeking a Senior Dynamics GP Administrator to own day-to-day operations of Microsoft Dynamics GP and related integrations, support ongoing configuration and customization, and partner with stakeholders on planning and executing an upgrade/migration to Dynamics 365 Business Central. This is a hands-on production support role with accountability for stability, performance, change control, and documentation.
Key responsibilities
Daily Operations & Support
Administer and support Dynamics GP environments (production and non-prod): user/security management, company setups, batch processing, month-end close support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Monitor system health and performance; coordinate with infrastructure/DBA teams on backups, restores, refreshes, and disaster recovery readiness.
Manage support tickets, root-cause analysis, and preventive fixes; communicate status to business and IT stakeholders.
Configuration & Customizations
Maintain and support GP configuration (financials, purchasing, inventory, etc., as applicable) including setups, posting processes, and workflows.
Support and coordinate
customizations
(modified forms/reports, SSRS, SmartLists, VBA/Dexterity add-ons, third-party ISVs), including testing and deployment across environments.
Maintain change control: release notes, regression testing, and documentation of functional and technical changes.
Integrations & Data
Own operational support for integrations into/out of GP (eConnect, SSIS, SmartConnect/Scribe/other middleware, file-based imports/exports, API/EDI as applicable).
Troubleshoot integration failures, reconcile data issues, and coordinate enhancements with developers and vendors.
Business Central Upgrade / Migration Assistance
Support discovery and readiness activities for GP → Dynamics 365 Business Central migration: inventory configuration/customizations, integration mapping, data migration scoping, and cutover planning support.
Assist with UAT coordination, defect triage, and transition planning (process changes, training inputs, documentation updates).
Documentation
Produce and maintain operational runbooks and environment documentation (security, integrations, job schedules, close procedures, troubleshooting guides).
Create a customization and integration register to support modernization and migration planning.
Required qualifications
5+ years of hands-on
Dynamics GP administration/support
in production environments.
Strong knowledge of GP security, posting/batch processes, and month-end close support.
Experience supporting GP customizations and reporting (modified forms/reports, SSRS/SmartList Builder, third-party add-ons).
Integration support experience (eConnect and/or middleware such as SmartConnect, Scribe, SSIS; troubleshooting data movement and reconciliation).
Solid SQL Server skills (reading/writing queries for troubleshooting, understanding GP databases, jobs, and performance basics).
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working in a ticketed support model.
Preferred qualifications
Prior involvement in
GP → Business Central
migration/upgrade projects (discovery, fit-gap, testing, cutover).
