General Description
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and assisting in the management of the inventory for the landing gear MRO operations. This role will require a high level of attention to detail, an understanding of the aerospace industry, and the ability to work effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, components, and parts for maintenance and repair services.
Detailed Description
Procurement of Materials & Parts:
Source and purchase materials, components, and parts required for landing gear MRO operations.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, lead times, and reliability.
Ensure all purchases meet the required specifications and are compliant with industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA).
Inventory Management:
Assist in the maintenance of optimal inventory levels with warehouse team to support continuous MRO operations while minimizing excess stock and potential obsolescence.
Help warehouse team if necessary, in the tracking and monitoring of the stock usage, reordering materials and components as necessary.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality products and timely deliveries.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure competitive sourcing and cost savings.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Work closely with the quality control and engineering teams to ensure that all materials and parts purchased meet the required standards for safety and performance.
Monitor and address any quality issues, returns, or discrepancies with suppliers.
Data Entry & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules.
Prepare regular procurement reports to track spending, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
Collaboration & Cross-functional Support:
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and other departments to identify material needs and ensure procurement aligns with operational requirements.
Provide support to project teams by ensuring the timely availability of materials for scheduled landing gear maintenance projects.
Cost Control:
Monitor and control procurement costs to meet budget targets and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies in procurement activities.
Qualification Minimum Requirements
Work Experience:
At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in an aerospace, MRO, or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of landing gear systems, aerospace components, and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA) is a significant advantage
Educational:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Fluent/advanced English
Technical Skills:
Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP tools is a plus. (Oracle and quantum)
Soft Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
