Main purpose of job: The IT and Logistics Analyst provides reliable and customer-focused IT support on-site to staff at the British Consulate-General in São Paulo and remotely to other posts around Brazil. The position holder ensures that standard IT equipment, applications, and services are operational and that users receive timely assistance in line with FCDO procedures, information security requirements, and service standards. The position holder also provides some operational support to the Logistics Team, assisting with day-to-day Transport/Logistics coordination activities for the Consulate in São Paulo and support the wider Brazil Network, including Brasília. This role may involve some local travel. Roles and responsibilities: IT First Line Support Provide first-line IT support to UK-based and locally engaged staff. Log, prioritise, and resolve IT incidents and service requests using approved systems. Resolve routine hardware, software, and user access issues at first line. Escalate non-standard or unresolved issues in line with agreed procedures. Set up, configure, and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals. Provide routine support for meeting rooms, audio-visual, and video conferencing equipment. Support users with Microsoft 365 applications and secure remote access tools, including VPN. Assist with inductions to new staff, staff moving posts and staff leaving employment with the consulate, including equipment preparation, recovery and other processes. Maintain accurate IT asset records and service documentation. Ensure all activities comply with FCDO information security and data protection policies. Logistics and Protocol Operational Support (variable percentage of time based on operational demands) Provide operational support to the Logistics Team at the British Consulate-General in São Paulo. Lead on diplomatic bags logistics for the consulate in Sao Paulo. Support customs clearance procedures at airports and Itamaraty (CGPI). Draft notes verbales, plans, and update task logs. Assist with scheduling and coordination of official vehicle movements. Support /logistics activities for the Brazil Network, including Brasília. Liaise with drivers and relevant staff to support daily Logistics operations. Help the Logistics team maintain basic Logistics records, including journey logs and registers. Support compliance with FCDO transport, safety, and security policies. Resources managed (staff and expenditure): Support the Head of IT on managing the ICT Budget spend and controlling expenses for the consulate with line manager oversight. Job holder will be trained to perform his role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Essential on arrival: Relevant degree in an IT related course. Experience providing first-line and second-line IT and technical support in an office environment. Working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems. Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications. Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users. Ability to follow procedures accurately and escalate issues appropriately. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Fluent spoken and written English and Portuguese. Language requirements: Language: English and Portuguese Level of language required: Excellent English and Portuguese (spoken and written). Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

Desirable skills / experience / qualifications: Entry-level IT certification (e.g. CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation). Experience working in a secure, regulated, or international organisation. Previous experience in an administrative or operational support role. Applicants must have the legal status to live and work in Brazil. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount. Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of 6 months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
