Back-end engineer / Platform Engineer

Role: Back-end engineer / Platform Engineer Location: Brazil (Remote) Mode: Contract

Required Skills & Experience • 6+ years of software engineering or backend development experience Strong experience with API development (GraphQL and REST) • Solid understanding of database design and optimization (SQL & NoSQL) Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or OCI) • Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Proficiency in at least one backend language: Java (Spring Boot) Python Node. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain data-driven APIs using GraphQL and REST Build and optimize backend services that interact with relational and NoSQL databases Design and manage GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and API performance Collaborate with data, product, and application teams to define data access patterns Implement API security, versioning, and governance best practices Deploy and manage services using container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) • Work with cloud services on AWS or OCI to build scalable, reliable systems Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application and database performance Participate in architecture discussions and mentor junior engineers
