Integration Engineer - Developer n8n Specialist

We are migrating our core automation and integration layer from Workato to a self-hosted n8n platform. This isn't just an update; it's a complete rebuild for scale, control, and performance. We are looking for the lead engineer to own this critical migration and shape the future of how our enterprise systems—like RetailPro, SAP, Oracle, and Amazon S3—communicate and automate. Your Core Challenge You will be the technical owner of the \"Workato to n8n\" migration project. Your primary mission is to design, execute, and optimize the new automation ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: Lead the Migration: Architect and execute the full migration of complex automation workflows from Workato to a self-hosted n8n environment. Build Enterprise Integrations: Develop, maintain, and optimize high-volume, reliable workflows connecting critical systems: RetailPro, SAP (ECC/S4HANA), Amazon S3, Oracle DB, Snowflake, and various APIs. Ensure Robust Connectivity: Design and implement secure, reliable connectivity solutions between our n8n platform and on-premise systems. Champion Reliability: Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve the performance and uptime of all automated processes. Own the Platform: Make key decisions on the n8n deployment, scaling, and best practices, acting as the subject-matter expert.

Who We Are Looking For Must-Have Skills (Non-negotiable): 3+ years of hands-on, production experience with n8n. You have built, deployed, and maintained complex workflows. Proven experience with self-hosted n8n deployments. You understand the infrastructure, scaling, and security aspects. Direct experience migrating from one iPaaS platform to another, preferably from Workato, Zapier, or Make. You know the pitfalls and patterns of platform migration. Strong understanding of secure integration patterns for on-premise systems (e.g., via SSH tunnels, VPN, agents). Experience with event-driven and file-based automation architectures. Highly Valued Skills (Nice-to-Have): Development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for writing custom n8n nodes or logic. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, IAM). Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for n8n deployments. Familiarity with RetailPro, SAP B1/ECC, or Oracle E-Business Suite from an integration perspective.
