Position Overview
The Sports Betting Copywriter (Brazil) will be responsible for creating high-quality, engaging, and culturally relevant content for the Brazilian sports betting market. This role focuses on producing creative copy for social media, retention channels, and editorial content, with a strong emphasis on local and international sports knowledge, pop culture, and digital trends.
The ideal candidate is a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker who deeply understands football culture, major sporting events, and the sports betting industry. They are highly active on social platforms, fluent in internet culture and memes, and able to translate trends into on-brand, performance-driven content.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
Create engaging content for social media platforms, including posts, captions, short-form campaigns, and trend-based content.
Write content for retention channels such as email campaigns, push notifications, SMS, and in-app messages.
Produce editorial content, including sports-related articles, previews, recaps, and promotional pieces.
Ensure all content follows brand tone of voice, communication strategy, and platform-specific best practices.
Sports & Industry Expertise:
Write confidently about sports events, leagues, teams, players, and betting mechanics relevant to the Brazilian market.
Translate betting concepts into clear, engaging, and user-friendly copy for both experienced bettors and casual users.
Trend & Pop Culture Monitoring:
Stay up to date with Brazilian pop culture, viral trends, memes, and social media formats.
Proactively suggest creative ideas that leverage trends to increase engagement and brand relevance.
Campaign & Retention Support:
Collaborate with Retention and Social Media teams to support promotional campaigns, tournaments, and special events.
Adapt messaging for different user segments and lifecycle stages.
Localization & Adaptation:
Translate and adapt content from English to Brazilian Portuguese, ensuring cultural relevance and emotional impact.
Localize global campaigns to resonate with Brazilian audiences and sports culture.
Proofreading & Quality Control:
Review and edit own content before submission.
Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with brand and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Social Media Marketing (SMM), Retention, SEO, Design, Legal, and external agencies.
Ensure content consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
Qualifications:
Native-level Brazilian Portuguese; strong English proficiency (B2+).
Proven experience as a Copywriter, ideally in sports betting, iGaming, sports media, or digital entertainment.
Strong understanding of Brazilian sports culture, especially football.
Deep familiarity with social media trends, memes, and online communities in Brazil.
Experience writing for social media and retention channels.
Ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms and audiences.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
