Virtual Online Tutor (ELA and/or Math)
Location:
Fully Remote (Must be available during CST hours)
Working Hours (CST) – Two Schedule Options:
Option 1 – Part-Time:
Monday–Thursday |
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST
(6 hours per day)
Option 2 – Full-Time:
Tuesday–Thursday |
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST
(8 hours per day)
During these hours, tutors must remain available. Classes may fill the entire period or there may be moments without classes, but availability is required throughout the shift.
Salary:
USD 500 per month

Position Overview
We are hiring Virtual Tutors to teach English Language Arts (ELA) and/or Math to students from 3rd to 9th grade(Elementary through early High School).
Tutoring sessions are conducted online in
1:1 or small groups (up to 3 students)
using a structured curriculum and digital platform. All lesson materials are provided — prior knowledge of any specific U.S. curriculum is not required.
This is a remote role with fixed school-hour scheduling aligned to U.S. Central Time.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging virtual tutoring sessions in ELA (Reading, Writing, Comprehension) and/or Math (Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II)
Explain academic concepts clearly, simply, and patiently
Adapt teaching style to different learning speeds and student needs
Create a supportive, positive, and emotionally safe learning environment
Follow Papaya’s lesson structure, engagement strategies, and curriculum guidelines
Track attendance and complete short session reports/rubrics after each class
Maintain punctuality and professionalism during all scheduled sessions
Communicate actively with Curriculum Leads and team members via Slack
Participate in training sessions and remain open to feedback
During non-teaching hours, tutors may work on academic materials or preparation tasks.
Required Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Strong knowledge of Math (3rd grade through Algebra) and/or ELA (4th grade and above)
Desktop or laptop computer with webcam
Reliable high-speed internet connection
Headset with microphone
Availability Monday–Thursday during U.S. school hours
Schedule:
10am – 4pm CST
Comfortable using digital tools (Zoom, Slack, educational platforms)
Strong communication skills and professionalism
Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
