The Information Specialist II collaborates with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and internal Business Partners to design and build data models and scalable analytics solutions using Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI. The role delivers moderately complex features, contributes to design and code reviews, and leverages AI/ML and generative AI tools—such as Glean, Microsoft Copilot, and Fabric AI—to improve analytics, data quality, and delivery efficiency. We are looking for a Information Specialist who will: Troubleshoot and resolve intermediate to complex technical issues in data pipelines, models, and BI solutions in a timely manner. Contribute to documentation, including standard operating procedures, runbooks, architecture diagrams, training materials, and knowledge articles. Work with business partners to understand problems and opportunities, gather requirements, and define KPIs for analytics and reporting solutions. Produce KPIs and analytical outputs through data analysis to support data-driven decision making and closed-loop feedback. Partner with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and others to build and maintain data integrations using Azure Data services, Fabric pipelines/Dataflows, and other ETL/ELT tools. Collect, profile, and analyze data from a variety of imperfect or distributed sources to ensure breadth, depth, and quality of reporting information. Design and develop intermediate-level data solutions, including reports, dashboards, scorecards, and semantic models in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. Build and optimize reusable datasets, report parts, templates, and semantic models for self-service analytics. Construct and execute intermediate database and semantic queries (SQL, DAX) shared across multiple solutions. Evaluate and recommend modern tools and techniques for information delivery (e.g., Fabric, Azure Data services, AI-enabled analytics). Analyze results; reconcile, test, and implement data and analytics solutions across environments (dev/test/prod). Participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support as needed for critical data and analytics services. Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. May require domestic and/or international travel up to 5%. Demonstrate CSG’s core competencies and values, including building constructive working relationships, proactive communication, and collaborative problem solving. Perform other related duties as assigned. Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience is required. 3+ years of experience in data architecture, data transformation, data modeling, and data governance. 3+ years of hands-on experience writing SQL and DAX queries and developing analytics solutions in

Power BI

(reports, dashboards, paginated reports, semantic models). 1–2 years of experience building solutions using

Microsoft Azure Data services

(e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, or equivalent). Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment

Experience working with or supporting

Microsoft Fabric

workloads (e.g., lakehouses, data engineering pipelines, Power BI/Fabric semantic models, or Dataflows). Experience leveraging AI/ML and generative AI tools—such as

Glean ,

Microsoft Copilot

tools, and

Fabric AI/AI Studio —to improve analytics, automate workflows, and enhance data quality. Strong experience working with relational databases and BI tools, with exposure to OLAP or distributed data platforms. Experience developing or maintaining ETL/ELT processes and supporting enterprise data initiatives using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric pipelines, or similar. Proficiency writing intermediate automation or data-processing scripts using

PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages . Experience working within

Agile ,

SDLC , and

ITIL

frameworks for delivery and operational processes. Experience troubleshooting data issues, performing root-cause analysis, and supporting production data workflows. Ability to collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and Data Scientists to refine requirements and support solution design and delivery. Experience with legacy Microsoft BI components (e.g.,

SSIS ,

SSRS ) is a plus, particularly for migration or modernization efforts. Experience with AI-assisted development or integrating AI tools into data workflows (e.g., Copilot for Power BI, Fabric Data Agents, etc.). Exposure to work tracking and documentation tools such as

Jira ,

Confluence ,

Azure DevOps , and related plugins. Experience with ITIL platforms such as

Helix

or

ServiceNow . Experience with

Microsoft SharePoint ,

Teams , or other enterprise collaboration tools. Exposure to third-party AI or automation platforms beyond the Microsoft ecosystem. Strong ability to query and analyze data using

SQL

and other query languages (e.g., Kusto, JQL) as appropriate. Ability to design and implement intermediate to advanced scripting/automation solutions using

PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages . Ability to leverage

AI/ML and generative AI tools —including Glean, Copilot tools, and Fabric AI/AI Studio—to streamline tasks, enhance analytics, and improve data quality. Solid understanding of

data modeling

concepts, including relational and dimensional models, semantic modeling, and best practices for

Power BI

and

Fabric . Working knowledge of

Azure

and

Fabric

security, access control, and governance concepts (e.g., workspaces, environments, data sensitivity, row-level security). Ability to follow established processes, documentation, and procedures while adhering to standards, change control, and operational policies. Strong troubleshooting skills, including issue identification, root-cause analysis, and remediation in data workflows and BI environments. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking abilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrated curiosity and the ability to research, learn, and apply new technologies—especially emerging AI, analytics, and Fabric/Azure capabilities—with minimal supervision. Strong workload-management skills with the ability to prioritize work, handle competing demands, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments. Ability to work both independently and in collaborative, cross-functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional interactions across diverse teams. Proficiency with personal computing tools and the

Microsoft 365
