About the role

Maintain and evolve Fraud Deflect's data stack: reliable pipelines, strong data models, and stable production operations on Linux. Focus is improving what exists, not rewriting everything.

Responsibilities

- Own data architecture and data modeling for core datasets. - Maintain and improve existing pipelines (stability, backfills, performance, data quality). - Build/operate Airflow workflows (SLAs, retries, alerting, idempotency). - Write and optimize SQL in MySQL (schemas, migrations, indexing, query tuning). - Develop pipeline/tooling code in Python. - Operate and debug on Linux (services/jobs, logs, incidents, automation). - Work within the current stack (Airflow, AWS, MySQL; ClickHouse is a plus). - Add basic observability; dashboards/visuals are a plus. - Communicate clearly; apply strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Required

- Strong MySQL/SQL (mandatory). - Airflow in production. - AWS experience. - Python proficiency. - Comfortable maintaining systems on Linux. - Strong communication, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

- Observability/visualization (metrics, dashboards, alerting). - Prior Clickhouse experience.
