Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for an Technical Development Manager (TDM) for São Paulo, Brazil to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our TDM you go support the projects during the opportunity and development phase by managing the engineering, supply chain and project control resources and workstreams to deliver a consistent EPC Technical and Commercial offer to Business Development.
The TDM assesses the pre-feasibility of the project thanks to his technical knowledge, which is mainly civil works and elec-trical related and manages front-end engineering studies by using internal or external resources.
The TDM delivers a cost competitive EPC budget considering the specific site conditions and grid interconnection solution(s) of the projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Gather all useful information and inputs from Business Development Department and support them to prepare the deliverables for the different key project decisions gate.
- Coordinate and plan Engineering, Supply Chain and Project control internal resources and workstreams to ensure smooth and efficient documentation delivery.
- Responsible for overall technical workstreams in early phases of solar PV projects, including feasibility and front-end engineering studies, site studies, PV and HV technical preliminary design and design specifications in con-tracts.
- Lead the development of technical concepts and solutions of the projects, identifies optimal solutions from a tech-nical, commercial and execution perspective at early stage including civil, mechanical, and electrical aspects of so-lar PV plants, interconnection and high-voltage design, yield assessments, as well as assessment of other technol-ogies (floating PV, hybrids, etc).
- Ensure that the EPC budget is competitive and consistent with specific Technical Solutions, uncertainties, and risks of the projects.
- Lead external and internal technical development processes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to suc-cessfully lead the project to construction start.
- Manage EPC deliverables in Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Tenders organized by the off-takers.
- Work in a core regional team consisting of a handful of project development and project finance resources to joint-ly ensure we reach the company’s ambitious growth targets.
- Support the organization by co-developing and updating the Operating System to streamline processes, ensure homogeneous quality of the deliverables and efficient delivery.
Qualifications And Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical university degree
- 5–10 years of professional experience, preferably within renewable energy IPPs or EPC companies
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) and in the local language
- Proven experience in tender preparation and construction budget development
- Solid experience supporting the business development phase of projects, with good understanding of power markets, especially renewable energy
- Strong technical knowledge of renewable energy systems, including power generation, grid interconnection, and transmission
- Experience managing and planning technical workstreams for large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects
- Hands-on experience with Technical Due Diligence processes
- Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to optimize project value through technical design and execution decisions
- Good understanding of technical and commercial contract structures commonly used in the renewables industry
- Multidisciplinary understanding of EPC projects
- Experience in the construction phase and exposure to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and presentation tools
