Key Responsibilities:
• Execute day-to-day Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) operations in full compliance with Brazilian regulatory requirements, including:
◦Conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) in accordance with COAF Resolution No. 28/2021, BACEN regulations, and internal risk-based policies;
◦Monitoring transactional activity across payment platforms to identify suspicious patterns, applying risk-based thresholds and behavioral analytics;
◦Performing PEP and Sanctions screening against local lists (e.g., BACEN, CGU, Federal Police) and international databases (e.g., OFAC, UN, EU), ensuring timely escalation and case resolution;
◦ Preparing, reviewing, and submitting high-quality Suspicious Activity Reports (Comunicados de Operações Suspeitas – COS) to COAF, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in line with regulatory expectations;
•Document and maintain comprehensive AML procedures, workflows, and decision rationales, ensuring audit readiness and regulatory alignment;
•Develop and maintain standardized operational playbooks in Portuguese, tailored to the Brazilian payments landscape and localized risk profiles;
•Lead or support the implementation of action plans to address compliance gaps, including defined timelines, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams;
•Collaborate closely with regional and global compliance teams to ensure local AML practices are aligned with group standards while fully respecting Brazil-specific regulatory obligations;
• Stay current with changes in local AML/CFT regulations, enforcement trends, and emerging financial crime risks within the fast-paced payments and fintech environment.
Qualifications:
•3-5 years of handson experience in AML, financial crime compliance, or risk management within the payments, fintech, or financial services industry, with a strong focus on the Brazilian regulatory environment;
• Fluent in both Portuguese (native or near-native proficiency) and English (professional working proficiency) — ability to communicate effectively with local teams and global stakeholders;
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Accounting, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field;
• ACAMS (CAMS) or equivalent certification (e.g., CBCP, CAFP) is highly preferred;
•Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Direct experience supporting internal or external audits, regulatory inspections, or remediation initiatives in Brazil;
•Familiarity with digital payment rails (e.g., PIX, TED, DOC, card networks) and associated AML risks;
• Experience in a multinational organization with regional compliance responsibilities.
