About the role Maintain and evolve Fraud Deflect’s data stack: reliable pipelines, strong data models, and stable production operations on Linux. Focus is improving what exists, not rewriting everything.

Responsibilities Own data architecture and data modeling for core datasets. Maintain and improve existing pipelines (stability, backfills, performance, data quality). Build/operate Airflow workflows (SLAs, retries, alerting, idempotency). Write and optimize SQL in MySQL (schemas, migrations, indexing, query tuning). Develop pipeline/tooling code in Python. Operate and debug on Linux (services/jobs, logs, incidents, automation). Work within the current stack (Airflow, AWS, MySQL; ClickHouse is a plus). Add basic observability; dashboards/visuals are a plus. Communicate clearly; apply strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Required Strong MySQL/SQL. Airflow in production. AWS experience. Python proficiency. Comfortable maintaining systems on Linux. Strong communication, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have Observability/visualization (metrics, dashboards, alerting). Prior Clickhouse experience.
