Database Schema Specialist

to design and scale a high-volume analytical database on

Aurora PostgreSQL (AWS)

.

This role is part of a

Unified Reporting Platform

, where a Kafka Streams pipeline delivers enriched, denormalized data to a reporting database consumed via self-service APIs.

Responsibilities Design and implement

production-grade schemas

(star schema: facts & dimensions) Implement

monthly partitioning strategies

for large datasets Define and optimize

index strategies

(B-tree, BRIN) Develop and manage

database migrations (Flyway) Configure and tune

connection pooling (PgBouncer or similar) Ensure performance and scalability for

10x data growth

Tech Environment Aurora PostgreSQL 14.x AWS (Aurora, ECS Fargate) Kafka Streams (data ingestion) Spring Boot (API layer)

✅ Requirements Strong experience with

PostgreSQL in production Hands-on experience with

Aurora PostgreSQL Solid understanding of

data modeling (star schema) Experience with

table partitioning and performance tuning Experience with

database migrations (Flyway or similar)

➕ Nice to Have DBA experience Experience with

AWS (Aurora, ECS/Fargate) Experience with

connection pooling tools (PgBouncer)
