The Finance Business Partner – Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, insight, and support to the ETS organisation and its consuming business units. This role partners closely with technology leaders, product owners, project managers, architects, and operational teams to ensure the organisation’s technology investments are planned, governed, and managed to deliver measurable business value.
The position works alongside a small team of specialised Finance Business Partners and acts as the key financial advisor to ETS, enabling effective decision‑making across run, change, and innovation investment portfolios. This includes providing robust financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, commercial advice, and value‑realisation measurement for technology products, platforms, and services.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the dedicated Finance Business Partner to Enterprise Technology Services, building trusted relationships with IT executives, technology product leaders, and senior business stakeholders.
Translate financial information into clear, actionable insights to support technology strategy, operational performance, and investment decisions.
Support consuming business units in understanding the cost, value, and drivers of ETS services, including allocation methodologies and optimisation opportunities.
Facilitate conversations that connect technology investment with business outcomes, benefits, and customer value.
Financial Leadership & Analysis
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for ETS, ensuring alignment with technology roadmaps, portfolio priorities, and organisational strategy.
Provide commercial guidance on vendor contracts, licensing models, infrastructure costs, SaaS agreements, cloud consumption, and project/portfolio delivery.
Develop and maintain financial models for technology cost transparency, scenario planning, total cost of ownership (TCO), and value realisation.
Analyse trends in operational performance, capacity, resourcing, cloud usage, and run‑the‑business cost structures to identify efficiency and optimisation opportunities.
Technology Investment & Value Management
Support governance of the technology investment portfolio, including business cases, investment appraisal, ROI analysis, and benefits tracking.
Ensure financial alignment across initiatives, platforms, and services, with clear understanding of cost drivers and expected outcomes.
Partner with ETS leaders to track delivery benefits, measure realised value, and support continuous improvement.
Reporting & Insights
Produce timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting for ETS, including executive dashboards, variance analysis, monthly performance commentary, and insights on cost drivers.
Present financial insights to technology leadership, business stakeholders, and governance forums in a clear, concise, and commercial manner.
Translate technical concepts and cost structures into business‑friendly language.
Key Capabilities & Experience
Desired: CA/CPA
Business / Commerce - Accounting or Finance degree
Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner within a technology‑focused organisation (IT services, digital, SaaS, infrastructure, engineering, or similar).
Strong understanding of technology cost structures, IT operating models, cloud financial management (FinOps), and technology portfolio delivery.
Ability to challenge constructively, influence decisions, and operate as a trusted advisor to technology and business leaders.
Excellent analytical capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to connect financial performance with business and technology strategy.
