Principal/ATD Earthing and Bonding Engineer

Responsibilities

Design, analyse and deliver complex earthing and bonding solutions for national rail traction power projects.

Provide specialist expertise on Earthing, Bonding, Electrolysis and EMC design, and advise clients, partners and internal teams.

Mentor junior engineers and drive the technical excellence of the design team.

Prepare detailed reports, proposals, and presentations for clients.

Lead the technical development of staff through coaching and mentoring.

Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to ensure coordination and integrity of the overall design.

Govern technical reviews, quality assurance and documentation processes for projects.

Identify new client opportunities and support the bidding process with technical input.

Qualifications

10+ years’ experience as a power systems engineer, with at least 7 years in earthing and bonding design.

Tertiary qualification in electrical/power engineering; chartered engineering and RPEQ status preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication and proficiency in MS Office.

Experience in a design consultancy role with demonstrated leadership in earthing and power system design.

Knowledge of AC and DC railway earthing, bonding, electrolysis and traction power system modelling tools.

Experience with CDEGS, ETAP or equivalent earthing/software modelling tools.

Ability to develop studies in ATP/PSCAD/EMTP and to perform EMC studies and management plans.

Capability to develop maintenance strategies, commissioning plans and relevant documentation.
