Head of Finance

ABOUT THE ROLE As the Head of Finance, you will create value beyond the ledger. We are seeking an energetic, commercially minded and technically strong Head of Finance to work within a high‑performing team and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. This is a hands‑on role with genuine strategic exposure — you will be just as comfortable rolling up your sleeves on the day‑to‑day detail as you are engaging with senior stakeholders on business performance.

The current finance function is stable, with robust systems and processes in place. This role is designed for a proactive self‑starter who can sustain this foundation, drive efficiencies and take the initiative to contribute to broader business strategies.

Financial Management & Reporting

– Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and board packs, maintain weekly financial controls and support month‑end close processes.

Commercial Support

– Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for operational and management teams. Assist with procurement activities and contribute to supplier relationship management and tender processes.

Governance & Compliance

– Lead compliance obligations, including monthly checklists with People & Culture and Payroll. Assist with internal audit activity and contribute to governance reporting.

Operational Involvement

– Work closely with operations to provide hands‑on analytical and financial support. Assist in managing commercial contracts and key IT relationships.

Team Contribution

– Be a reliable, collaborative member of the finance team, bringing initiative and adaptability to a dynamic environment.

ABOUT YOU Ideal Candidate

✓ CA/CPA qualification, with a degree in Accounting or Finance.

✓ Professional Membership with CA ANZ or CPA Australia (Essential).

✓ Solid experience in a finance role within a mid‑to‑large private or corporate environment, with exposure to both strategic and hands‑on responsibilities.

✓ Strong technical expertise in financial accounting with a knack for translating financial insights into actionable business outcomes.

✓ Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and different stakeholders without losing attention to detail.

✓ Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to interact and engage with stakeholders across the business.
