Psychiatrist Staff Specialist - Tasmania

Overview

Summary: Permanent full time day work, on-call roster when required. Working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP. $300,216 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% super.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Staff Specialists - Psychiatrists to join this multidisciplinary Mental Health Services team in North-West Tasmania, with opportunities across other locations statewide. In this role, you will deliver high-quality mental health care in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, agency policies, legal requirements, and relevant professional competencies.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive general inpatient and community psychiatric services in the north west region of Tasmania.

Act as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers, including general practitioners and other agencies, regarding the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders.

Undertake supervisory responsibilities with Registrars/Career Medical Officers, Resident Medical Officers and other medical staff as required/appropriate.
